U.S. Commander of Afghanistan only talked to Obama once (Are you kidding me??!!)

The key to understanding and competent leadership is knowledge of the basic issues and good communications with those upon whom one depends to execute his directives and carry out his orders.
Any good leader knows this, whether he be the CEO of a corporation, or the commander of troops in combat; good communications can be the difference between victory and defeat. Unfortunately President Obama, being totally inexperienced and completely unprepared for his role as President and Commander in Chief, lacks this basic understanding. Well, he was a community organizer with absolutely no experience in directing a large enterprise, so this should come as no surprise.
So here we have a situation where there are American troops fighting against an implacable enemy and the commander on the ground has spoken to the Commander in Chief (who specifically placed him in command of those troops) exactly once in over two months.
Here is the Washington Times report (with the link in the title):
U.S. Commander of Afghanistan only talked to Obama onceHow do you respond to this? How can you make any claim to competency when you are so far out of the loop that you haven't even made the effort to communicate with your military commanders? Common sense alone would dictate that, as Commander-in-Chief, you need to talk to your subordinates on a regular and frequent basis, if only to remain informed of the status of combat operations.

The military general credited for capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq says he has only spoken to President Obama once since taking command of Afghanistan.
“I’ve talked to the president, since I’ve been here, once on a VTC [video teleconferece],” General Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.
“You’ve talked to him once in 70 days?” Mr. Martin followed up.
“That is correct,” the general replied.
I am not surprised by this revelation...at least I shouldn't be...because this is typical of how Democrats view the military and foreign policy.
When your whole understanding of international relations begins with "America has been wrong in the past and is wrong now," then it is no small leap to the concept of relegating military action to the back burner of your priorities.
When the entire focus of your presidency is to "completely restructure American society" along the lines of a Utopian socialist paradise, then all foreign policy becomes of secondary importance.
Obama has no time for the military because he is too busy destroying the lives of the American people with his "Cap and Trade" environmental boondoggle and his "health care initiative." He is too busy attacking citizens who oppose his destructive domestic agenda to worry about the lives of our troops and the conduct of a war that will directly influence our national security.
He is too busy pandering to the Latino voters by perusing amnesty to the 20-30 million illegal aliens in America and fighting against securing our borders by removing agents.
Lastly, he is too busy travelling around the nation and the world apologizing for America's past behavior and attempting to make friends with those leaders who hate America.
The man hs spent more time in Air Force One than he has behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Apparently he believes that being the President is akin to going on a four year worldwide holiday paid for by the American taxpayer.
Looks like President Obama has perceived the threat, from Jimmy Carter, to his apparent aspirations to becoming the most incompetent president in history and is firing another salvo in an attempt to recapture the lead.
The question to ask now is not, "Is President Obama incompetent?" It is, "Just how incompetent is President Obama?"
So far the answer to that question is, "Breathtakingly."
Long Live Our American Republic!!!!

With all of America's other problems I say if he is the best person for the job, trust him to communicate his needs. I am USN Retired. My experience was when you have the best man for the job he should be left alone, unless he asks for help.
I was given an assignment and a time frame for accomplishing it. I only had to call the right person in Washington DC twice and what I needed arrived on the next flight. To this day I can not and believe that I should talk about the details of my job or the assignment.
Enough is Enough!
President Obama needs to either support his Field Commanders and give them to troops to win a decisive victory in Afghanistan, OR begin the total withdrawal now. I do not want to see one more U.S. service member lost due to Obama's "dinking around" reassessing what needs to be done. Send troops or get out. Very simple.

He's not supposed to be talking to the President directly, he is 4 levels down the "Chain Of Command" which he is bound by military regulations, to follow. If his commanders wanted him to talk directly, they get him on the line..as they did once. He is a brilliant General, but he has really stepped over the line, when he does a public interview telling everyone, "My Way Is The Only Way". Shame on you General. You are not the Commander and Chief, you are not even close to being in charge of the Pentagon. Follow the rules, and honor the Generals that have proceeded you in history. we elect our Commander and Chief, even if some of the people don't like the results. We will get to vote again, that's the way it is.
