Car showrooms quiet after clunkers clamor ends (DUH!)
9/20/2009
Gee! Who'd a thunk it? Car dealerships are back building inventories as buyers stay away in droves.
Essentially, what this means is that the billions of tax-payer dollars Obama and the Democrat Congress spent on the "Cash for Clunkers" program were wasted...wow, no one predicted this. [Roll eyes]
This is simply the latest example of the idiocy that now poses as leadership in the White House and in Congress. The longer these Democrats remain in power the greater my contempt for them grows...beginning with our Tyro in Chief. The man had no business running for President. Unqualified is the precise word.
Well here's a part of the Boston.com article and the usual link:
Car showrooms quiet after clunkers clamor endsThis just proves the old adage, "If the government gives it away, they will come."
Dealers add other incentives in bid to entice buyers

It has been nearly a month since the car-buying frenzy of the Cash for Clunkers program ended, and many area auto dealers are longing for the good old days of July and August.
Like consumers nationwide, Massachusetts residents rushed to take advantage of the federal voucher program, which offered them up to $4,500 on old gas-guzzlers to be put toward the purchase of new, more fuel-efficient vehicles. About $65 million worth of vouchers were handed out statewide during the monthlong program that ended Aug. 24.
But once the federal money dried up, so did the sales rally. Now, customers at dealerships like Silko Honda in Raynham are few and far between, and inventory is once again accumulating.
Seriously folks, you would have to be pretty darn stupid to have believed that a temporary boost in auto sales would result in anything but a following lull when the free money dried up. Of course deep thought is not what this administration is known for...or for that matter what liberalism in general is known for.
Quick, simplistic, superficial, ill-conceived, poorly understood, and ineffectual seems to be a more accurate description of what passes for thinking in the Obama White House and in the Democrat leadership.
The first thought I had about the "Cash for Clunkers" program...after I criticized it as a crass attempt at the redistribution of wealth from the taxpayers to anyone having a car they needed or wanted to dump...was that the aftermath of the huge boost in sales would be a return to the doldrums the industry was experiencing prior to that boondoggle.
So now we see the fruits of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Administration. Automobile dealerships are once more desperate for customers who will not show up because of economic uncertainty resulting from Obama's pathetic performance since he was sworn into office.
All of you Obama voters enjoy that "Hope and Change" you were promised.
As P.T. Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute." Obama cornered the market.
Perhaps Forrest Gump was closer, to paraphrase: "Stupid is as stupid votes."
Long Live Our American Republic!!!!
