Success Continues in Iraq: Mainstream Media Silent

Well, the truth keeps getting out in spite of the best efforts of our Democrat Party controlled Mainstream Media (MSM) with their virtual (self-imposed) black-out on news of our successes in Iraq.

The near constant drumbeat of defeat rolling across the airwaves by the alphabet news organizations, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and of course most egregious of all, MSNBC has been all but silenced as the Iraqi Army with the support of our troops has fought and won its way through the strongholds of Muqtada el Sadr and Sadr City.

Since the surge began, those in the Democrat (Defeatist) Party have preached of our ever imminent failure and defeat. "Leaders" like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have been outspoken in their premature announcement of our complete failure in Iraq.

Even today the lies from the Left continue, but now some of those lies are lies of omission. As successes mount and the once doubtful emergence of a stable democratic Iraq is now coming to fruition, rather than preaching our imminent defeat, they now have become silent as each "unreachable, unrealistic" goal has been accomplished.

Far from being a lost cause, Iraq is on the verge of becoming a shining success story. Of the much touted (by Democrats) 18 goal posts set up by the Bush administration as achievable during the surge, the count is up to 15 that have been successfully completed or have had substantial progress made towards completion.

Iraqi troops and Special Forces are now entering into the last strongholds of the Sadrist army and sweeping up their leaders. Here is one report from the Long War Journal:

"Iraqi forces pursue Mahdi Army in Baghdad

Clashes broke out in the Sadr City district in northeastern Baghdad after Iraqi forces detained a senior Sadrist leader, an Iraqi news outlet reported.

Iraqi soldiers and police cordoned several neighborhoods in the Mahdi Army stronghold to contain the fighting that occurred after security forces detained Abbas Abdul Aal, who is a "senior Sadrist leader," Voices of Iraq reported. Aal's nephew was also detailed. "Security forces closed all of the city's outlets and prevented the movement of traffic and pedestrians," an eyewitness told the Iraqi newspaper.

The move in Sadr comes one day after Iraqi soldiers closed the Sadrist office in the neighborhood of Shula, where the Sadrist maintain a strong presence. This is the second Sadrist office to be closed in Shula since May.

Iraqi and US forces began operations in Shula in early May just as the fighting was winding down with the Mahdi Army in Sadr City. An Iraqi Army brigade moved into Shula in early May and took control of the headquarters of the Office of the Martyr Sadr. Iraqi troops occupied the Sadrist office because it was being used as a headquarters by "Special Group extremists." An operation to clear Shula was put on hold after Iraqi forces began concurrent operations in Basrah, Sadr City, Mosul, Dhi Qar, and Maysan.

Iraqi and US forces continue to target Mahdi Army leaders in Baghdad and the wider South. Coalition special operations forces captured "senior member of Iranian-trained Special Groups leadership" in the Karadah district in southeastern Baghdad. "The suspect has conducted rocket attacks on Coalition and Iraqi bases, facilitated weapons from Iran, and sent members of his evil militia to Iran for training<" Multinational Forces Iraq reported in a press release."
[continued...]
I can hear the plaintive voices from the extreme Left Democrats even now..."Won't somebody do something to prevent this President from succeeding in Iraq?" "Won't anybody step up to the plate and stop the progress?"

Peace is about to break out all over Iraq.

This is such a nightmarish scenario for Democrats that the subject which dominated all others in their rants from the House and Senate floors has ceased to be a topic of discussion. Their voices have fallen silent. Groups like "Code Pink" and MoveOn.org who have their entire being invested in our defeat in the war in Iraq have been relegated to the roll of court jesters for Democrats in Congress.

To be sure, there remains a lot of cleaning up to be done in Iraq, but the foundations of a successful rescue mission have been laid. If the American people can be made to see the reason in remaining in Iraq for a few more years, a possibility which seems to be more and more likely as the number of American troops killed continues to decline, George W. Bush's "horrible mistake" will turn out to be one of the greatest foreign policy successes in our nation's history.

A democratic, stable Iraq would become a foundation for the spreading of democracy throughout the Middle East and this once unattainable goal is now looking not so unattainable.

Even Barack Obama has seen the writing on the wall and backed away from the centerpiece of his campaign, immediate withdrawal from Iraq, sending his supporters reeling and setting his press agents to spinning the message that he has always supported victory.

The silence is deafening from the MSM and our "loyal" opposition.

I doubt even Walter Cronkite could portray the successes the Iraqi Army and our troops are enjoying as a defeat. It ain't over, but it's a damn sight better than Democrats expected or desired by this time in the election year.

Only a Democrat Party led surrender could prevent what is now becoming apparently inevitable; a stable, self-sustaining, democratic Iraqi nation.

Long Live Our American Republic!!!

The only bona fide true good news will be when this national disgrace based on lies is over.

The official casualty total
reached at least 65,889 as of July 8th. The total includes 33,664 dead and wounded by what the Pentagon classifies as "hostile" causes.
