Reinstate David Shuster Now!!!
The conduct of MSNBC in suspending David Shuster for his, at worst, inelegant choice of words to describe the "Hillary Clinton for Queen of the United States" campaign's use of the former First Daughter, is reprehensible.
Whatever happened to "Freedom of Speech and of the Press?" Why is it perfectly acceptable for Keith Olbermann to use his professional perch at MSNBC as an attack dog for the Democrat Party against our sitting President, yet an offense worthy of suspension for one of their most Liberal commentators to attack the Clinton campaign?
It seems telling the truth as a principle of basic journalism is something that completely escapes the powers that be at MSNBC.
Last week, it was Chris Matthews who was forced to apologize for suggesting that Hillary Clinton's entire political career was made possible by the former Bubba in Chief's inability to keep his pants zipped up.
Was what Chris Matthews said factually inaccurate (Hint: Never truer words were ever spoken.) or was it simply a case of Mr. Matthews (a man for whom I have nothing but contempt) being called on the carpet because he offended Hillary Clinton?
Now, we have another member of the MSNBC political team being thrown under the bus by MSNBC; again for stating the obvious and again offending the Clinton machine.
What horrible comment could David Shuster have made that was so offensive that MSNBC decided that it had no alternative other than suspend the "egregious" Mr. Shuster?
Surely Chelsea, being the 28 year-old daughter of a woman strong enough to withstand the rigors of the Presidency of the United States of America and who is worthy of conducting campaign activities on behalf of her mother is strong enough to endure the rigors of this campaign. If not, then she should not be out actively harassing celebrities and the Democrat Super-deligates on behalf of her mother.
Those who live by the sword will perish by the sword and this rather mild reference to Chelsea Clinton pales in comparison to comments made by her mother about both President Bush and about General Patraeus, whom she personally insulted by implying his testimony before the Senate was less than factual.
Such feigned indignance from the Clinton campaign is to be expected given that Hillary and her Bubba base miss no opportunity to play the victim card when it seems advantageous.
What is contemptible is that MSNBC has acted as an enabler for this kind of political gamesmanship.
President Bush's two daughters were considered fair game when they were much younger and much sport and comment was made about their escapades while in college.
I saw no such outrage from anyone in the Democrat Party or in the MSM over those attacks, in spite of the fact that neither of them were actively involved in their father's campaign. Their mere appearance on stage with President Bush was cited as justification for such scrutiny.
Now, when Chelsea has directly injected herself into the political arena, it is suddenly intolerable for someone in the press to question the propriety of her activities and of her parents use of her.
Seems that Howard Wolfson (the Clinton communications director) Hillary, and her First Bubba to be have a little too much influence on the activities of MSNBC. Of course it has been obvious for all to see that MSNBC has been in the tank for the Democrat Party for some time and many of their commentators and reporters (so-called) have been overtly supportive of Barrack Hussein Obama, but for a presidential candidate to weild this kind of power over the daily machinations of a (now don't laugh when I say this) major news network is really very frightening.
Imagine the extent of censorship which will occur should Hillary manage to capture the Presidency. Bill "the Serial Rapist" Clinton will be unleashed on a whole new crop of interns and innocent women without having to answer to anyone.
The press will be so cowed that there will be a complete news blackout concerning any scandal occurring in the Clinton White House of Ill Repute, Part Deux.
That MSNBC should be so gutless as to cave in to pressure from the corrupt Clinton political machine is reprehensible. Such pandering by the supposedly "independent mainstream media" is an abrogation of their responsibility to uphold the first amendment rights of every news organization and every citizen of the United States.
The Clintons are the most corrupt political entity in American politics since Tammany Hall (another Democrat Party organization). Hillary Clinton, with the help of former Bubba Administration members has set up a variety of "non-partisan" news watchdog organizations, like Media Matters for America, which Hillary Clinton specifically stated she "helped start and supported" and which are largely funded by rich Leftist organizations like the Soros "Open Society Institute" and various other Goerge Soros funded "non-partisan" Left-wing front organizations like: Center for American Progress, MoveOn.org, America Coming Together, Democracy Alliance, Tides Foundation, Help Network, SAFE Colorado and Campaign for a Progressive Future.
The mere threat, by the Clinton corruption league, of a boycott of presidential debates held on MSNBC should never be enough to cause the capitulation of a "major" news network.
Hillary refusing to appear in front of the cameras in a debate with her steadily rising in the polls opponent? Don't make me laugh. She wouldn't have the (well I was going to say cajones, but of course she doesn't) guts to refuse a debate. Such a refusal could only occur with the complicity of the Obama organization.
MSNBC should withdraw its suspension of David Shuster and withdraw any apology made. Mr. Shuster's comments were not intended in any way to denigrate or demean Chelsea Clinton, and Hillary and David Wolfson know that full well. This is just another example of Hillary playing the victim card for votes.
Absolutely disgusting! And MSNBC's complicity is equally disgusting.
