The Predator Bill

No. I’m not talking about a new piece of legislation, I’m talking of our former (I can hardly stand to say this) President Bill Clinton.

It turns out that Bubba has been receiving payments from a company, the sole function of which is to gather the names of elderly individuals who might be vulnerable to scams. InfoUSA offers its customers what they euphemistically call these people, “Elderly Opportunity Seekers,” Suffering Seniors,” and “Oldies but Goodies.”

This story comes from the pages of the New York Post:

BILL'S UGLY BUDDY
PAYMENTS FROM SCANDAL-TIED FIRM

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

May 24, 2007 -- EVERY year since he left the White House, former President Bill Clinton has been paid by InfoUSA - an Omaha, Neb., company now identified as a key provider of databases that enable criminals to defraud the unsuspecting elderly.

Senate rules don't require Hillary Clinton to reveal exactly how much - or for what - the company has paid her husband over the past five years. But former presidents - especially Bill Clinton - don't come cheap. And, just months after he left the presidency, InfoUSA paid Bill Clinton $200,000 to give a speech in Omaha. Since then, it has paid him an undisclosed amount each year - listed only as "more than $1,000" for "non-employee compensation" on Sen. Clinton's financial-disclosure forms. (Her latest Senate disclosure isn't yet public, so we don't yet know if the firm paid him anything last year.)

As best we can determine, this is one of only two companies with whom the ex-president has an ongoing, formal relationship.

As The New York Times reported on Sunday, InfoUSA compiled and sold lists of elderly men and women who would be likely to respond to unscrupulous scams. The company advertised lists such as: "Elderly Opportunity Seekers" - 3.3 million older people "looking for ways to make money "Suffering Seniors" - 4.7 million people with cancer or Alzheimer's disease; "Oldies but Goodies" - 500,000 gamblers over age 55. It described one list: "These people are gullible. They want to believe that their luck can change."
[Emphasis added]
For all of you Clinonistas out there, try explaining this one away. I can almost deal with the group called “Opportunity Seekers” as people who are “scammed” are often looking to get something for nothing, but when it comes to the elderly, who might be trying to survive on a monthly Social Security Check, maybe with a small pension, this becomes a case of desperation rather than greed. That is why I used the word “almost.”

The third group, the so-called “Oldies but Goodies…” well, if they’re gambling, then maybe they could be placed in the category of those who deserve what they get, but again I go back to the point that these are our parents and our grand-parents, our aunts and uncles who are being targeted. It certainly goes against the grain.

It is the second group which really ticks me off. This kind of conduct is unconscionable. It sure as hell ought to be criminal, but of course we have always known that the Clintons are as corrupt as they come. From Hillary’s $100,000 “miracle” in the cattle futures market, through Whitewatergate, to the grand finale of the raping of the White House, Bubba and Hillary have been very consistent and rather blatant in their criminal behavior.

They do this because they are aware that as Democrats and Liberal icons, they are under the direct protection of the Paleo-media, who despite their gradual demise still wield tremendous clout on Capitol Hill and throughout the general population. The Clintons, as the press’ favored couple, are immune from condemnation or exposure by the MSM.

The article goes on to explain that the CEO and chairman of InfoUSA, Vinod “Vin” Gupta, is a longtime friend of and contributor to the Clintons (if sociopaths like the Clintons ever could have actual “friends”). He was a frequenter of the Lincoln Bedroom Hotel, while Bubba was in office and has donated $Millions to their campaigns and their causes.

Hillary has applied for and obtained an “extension” in filing her financial disclosure statement as she and Bill and their accountants and lawyers work on ways of hiding this relationship and the financial gains they have made from this nefarious predator.

I also find it fascinating that AARP hasn’t said a word about this scandal. Aren’t they supposed to be advocates for the elderly? Of course their silence might be related to the fact that they are more of an advocacy group for the Democrat agenda and Party than they are interested in protecting the elderly from scum like Bill’s good buddy, Vin Gupta.

Of course this relationship hasn’t been a one-way street. Morris reports that Clinton nominate Mr. Gupta nominated as consul general of Bermuda and having failed that, nominated him to serve as U.S ambassador to Fiji, but he was never confirmed by Congress. Clinton finally managed to reward Gupta by appointing him to the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees.

This, like the “Senator Dianne Feinstein War Profiteering Scandal” will probably all be white[water] washed by the press so that other than a few Conservative pundits, it will never become a major news item.

Don’t you know? Democrats are incapable of corruption, only Republicans can be corrupt. Democrats just “exercise poor judgment” on occasion; they “merely make mistakes” or at worst “misjudge a situation,” but they are never corrupt.
If the Democrats carry the next election, and Hill becomes President, the whole nation will be for sale to the highest bidder, and we will be stuck paying the Bill. Remember Hillary has already stated she wants “to end the ownership society.”
Karl would be proud of her (Marx, not Rove-you idiot moonbats).

As for you sanctimonious “I’ll never vote for Rudy or any other Republican who doesn’t strictly toe the line” boasters, you’d best remember Hillary’s words when you make that decision not to vote. It can get worse, much worse-and fast.
With Liberal Democrats in control of both Houses of Congress, and Hillary or Obama in the White House, socialism will quickly become the norm and any last vestiges of our free-market, capitalistic economy will be quickly erased.

I don’t like Rudy’s stand on abortion, gay marriage, or gun ownership any more than the rest of you so-called Conservatives out there, but I guarantee you that when push comes to shove, Rudy will stand for America while Hillary will stand for herself.

So go ahead and cut off your nose to spite you face. You will regret it for decades to come. The policies of Socialism once instituted will be very difficult to “undo.”
If you want to see the future of America under the Democrats, you have to look no further than Europe. Sky-high unemployment, low GDP, and onerous taxes. That is the future that Bill and Hillary have planned for us.

Oh! And as we are all suffering, HillBillary will be raking in the dough from their elitist Liberal friends.

Long Live This American Republic!?

Iraq War Funding: Democrats Blink, President Wins

Well, once more we see that the Democrat demagogues don’t have the courage of their (claimed) convictions.

After battling and claiming that they would not pass a bill funding the Iraq war without troop withdrawal deadlines, the Democrats capitulated. In the end they settled for “benchmarks” which would measure the level of progress being achieved by the Iraqi government. The only funding that would be affected by these benchmarks is the aid the government is receiving for reconstruction.

What all this means is that President Bush (and America) have won another victory over the fail at any cost Democrat leadership. The primary critics of the war in the Democrat leadership, including “Mad Captain Jack” Murtha, the caliph of capitulation, were forced to admit that they had been lying all through the debate in their continued claims that the troops could be funded into July.

“Congress Passes Deadline-Free War Funding Bill
Measure Includes Benchmarks for Iraqis

By Shailagh Murray
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, May 25, 2007; Page A01

Congress sent President Bush a new Iraq funding bill yesterday that lacked troop withdrawal deadlines demanded by liberal Democrats, but party leaders vowed it was only a temporary setback in their efforts to bring home American troops.

War opponents dismissed the bill as a capitulation to Bush and said they would seek to hold supporters in both parties accountable. But backers said the bill's provisions -- including benchmarks for progress that the Iraqi government must meet to continue receiving reconstruction aid -- represented an assertion of congressional authority over the war that was unthinkable a few months ago.

Bush, who had vowed to veto any legislation with restrictions on troop deployments, announced he would sign the $120 billion package, which was approved 80 to 14 last night in the Senate, after a 280 to 142 House vote.

He said the 18 benchmarks should signal to the Iraq government that "it needs to show real progress in return for America's continued support and sacrifice." But he added, "We're going to expect heavy fighting in the weeks and months" ahead.”
Oh my, my. This won’t please the rabid dog Lefties from whom the Democrats have been taking their marching orders. The article does say that these haters of everything American “bombarded congressional offices with angry phone calls and e-mails,” all demanding withdrawal dates be placed in the bill.

Majority Whip, Dick Durbin whined from the floor of the Senate,
“We do not have it within our power to make the will of America the law of the land.”
Boo-hoo-hoo.

Interestingly I can’t seem to find his name among those Democrats in the Senate who actually had the guts to vote their convictions. Those voting against the funding bill were Democrats, Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Mrs. William J. “Hillary“ Clinton (D-NY), Chris Dodd (D-CT), Russ Feingold (D-WI), Edward Kennedy (D-MA, John Kerry (D-MA), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Barack Obama (D-IL), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Ron Wyden (D-OR)-oh yeah, and make believe “independent” Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Among the Republicans voting against the bill, mostly in protest over the pork-barrel spending included were Richard Burr (R-NC), Tom Coburn )R-OK) and Mike Enzi (R-WY).

I find it interesting that the article states:

“In the Senate, 37 Democrats supported the bill, while 10 opposed it.”
Umm…correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t that mean that Senate Democrats voted for the funding bill almost 4 to 1? The Houston Chronicle reports that:
“the Democratic-controlled Congress grudgingly approved fresh billions for the Iraq war tonight, minus the troop withdrawal timeline that drew his earlier veto.”
“Grudgingly?!?” I’m not sure exactly how an 84-17 vote in the Senate and a 280-141 vote in the House add up to “grudging” support. That’s a five-to-one margin in the Senate and a two-to-one margin in the House, hardly what I would call “grudging.”

Over in the House, things were wonderfully amusing as Murtha, who had been in the forefront of those making the claims that the troops could be funded into July without this measure, was forced to admit:
"This is not a game. They run out of money next week,"
Well, I guess we all know never to trust what that old fool says anymore. A liar is a liar and he has been lying about this war from the first day he opened his senile old mouth. Eighty-six, over a third, of all Democrats in the House voted for the funding bill.

But let’s not be too graceless in our victory, this had to be a bitter pill for such staunch American Patriots as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to swallow. Even more pitiful were the self-flagellation taking place by those in the Senate leadership who were unable to bring themselves to vote against this funding bill. Their anguish was truly sad to see, as Carl Levin stated:

"I cannot vote ... to stop funding for our troops who are in harm's way.I simply cannot and I will not do that. It is not the proper way that we can bring this war to an end."
I’m almost certain I saw a tear in his eye, almost certain.

That well known Patriot and solid pro-American bastion of truth (and real estate deals) Harry Reid stated:

"Senate Democrats will not stop our efforts to change the course of this war until either enough Republicans join with us to reject President Bush's failed policy or we get a new president,"

There were of course the normal black is white claims by those who oppose the troops and the war claiming “victory” to one degree or another, but Russ Feingold got it right when he described the Democrat effort as a “failure.” Feingold stated:

"Instead of forcing the President to safely redeploy our troops, instead of coming up with a strategy providing assistance to a post-redeployment Iraq, and instead of a renewed focus on the global fight against al-Qaeda,we are faced with a spending bill that kicks the can down the road and buys the Administration time."
No Senator, what this bill does is buy the Iraqis and their fledgling government time.

Democrats are still incapable of telling the truth, incapable of delivering on their promises (which are always empty), and incapable of protecting America. In fact, I suggest they take a new motto: Nunquam Idoneus (Never Capable).

Rem publicam Americanus diu viva!

They Don't Just Want to Take Over Our Nation, They Want to Vote As Well

Well here you have it straight from the horses mouth, as it were. Senator Gallegos makes a compassionate but uncompelling plea for Texans to oppose voter ID's.

Common sense tells us that in a time in which there is rampant and uncontrolled immigration by Latinos into the United States and substantial evidence of voter fraud (regardless of ethnicity) already becoming a problem in some states, that an unforgeable form of voter ID is becomming a necessity.

I am not one who would normally favor a universal ID card. I have always considered it a point of pride that in the US we have never needed any such document that would lend itself to an abuse of power, but considering the threat posed by the uncontrolled illegal immigration across our southern border(note: it is called illegal immigration because the individuals involved are breaking the law) I have been forced to reevaluate my reasoning.

Why right to vote, without an ID, is worth fighting for
This lawmaker counts his grandmother among reasons

Viewpoints, Outlook
Houston Chronicle

By STATE SEN. MARIO GALLEGOS
May 22, 2007, 10:12PM

In my community in Houston, thousands of first- and second-generation Americans came of age in the "greatest generation." They volunteered to protect our freedom in World War II. Many who came home had to fight to build a life for their families and exercise the rights they earned with their blood and tears.

As a firefighter, I was trained to protect their lives and property. As a state senator today, it's the least I can do to honor their sacrifices by being in Austin to protect their right to vote.

Every nonpartisan, academic study on the impact of voter ID laws in other states shows they suppress voter turnout among the elderly, low-income citizens, Hispanics, African-Americans and the disabled. But I don't need a study to know why voter ID proposals like House Bill 218 are bad; I just have to think about my grandmother.

My grandmother came from Mexico, played by the rules, became a citizen and earned her right to vote. She didn't have a driver's license, but she had her voter registration card, went to the polls where the workers knew her, and voted. If the voter ID law were in effect, I'm not sure she or others like her could have voted.

This year, close to 120 burdensome voter identification proposals were introduced in state legislatures across the nation. Not one of them has passed yet, and I want to make sure Texas isn't the only state to pass one. For many folks, a voter ID requirement doesn't sound like a big deal, but it would prevent many eligible voters from voting. Many elderly voters don't have a driver's license. Others who And new voter ID requirements would
Mr. Gallegos fails to state any compelling reason why his grandmother might not have been able to vote. In what way Mr. Gallegos would requiring her to have a photo ID have prevented her from voting?

Most legislation requiring such identification provides for the indigent voter's needs. As for the concern about those who "are disabled or work two jobs don't have the time, money or ability to get an ID card or documents they would need to vote," As voting requires registration and taking time off from work anyway, and as those who are unable to travel due to disability, provisions can easily be made to provide the transportation and access they might need how does this become such an insurmountable burden.

Why would requirements for voter ID's "create confusion and long lines at the polls that would discourage many from voting?" Are you saying that Hispanics are too dumb to deal with these requirements? Are you saying that these people are incapable of dealing with minor inconveniences? Are you, as is usual for a Liberal Democrat simply implying that, unlike an elite like you, the "rabble" would be unable to cope with such complex issues?

What Gallegos and most opponents of this kind of guarantee needed for maintaining the integrity of our electoral system, Liberals and Democrats mostly but not exclusively, are doing is throwing up "straw man" arguments. They are merely attempts to prevent America from instituting the kind of prudent measures that have become necessary after so many documented cases of dead people voting, felons voting, and other registration frauds that have become necessary.

The truth is, either Gallegos is dishonest and wants us to leave our elections vulnerable to massive voter fraud by illegals with forged documents, or his is completely naive and out of touch with what has been occurring in the Southwest over the past fifty years.

Mr. Gallegos doesn't strike me as being particularly stupid, so...I leave it to you to judge him on his honesty.

Post's Weblog Review: Biased or Uninformed?

Now here's an interesting little oversight straight from the pages of the Washington Past's website. In a discussion over how poorly the Republicans are performing on reaching internet surfers, Mr. Vargas only mentions one of the two largest Leftwing Blogs Markos Moulitsas Zuniga's dailyKos(the one which has received the Democrat stamp of approval for reasons I'll get to later) and only one of several very successful Conservative blogs, Hugh Hewitt's "Townhall.com."

Notably missing is the largest Conservative political blog according to Alexa, Jim Robinson's freerepublic.com, and two of the largest second tier (maybe they are really the one-and-a-half tiered sites, the outrageous and even more hate laden Leftwing extremist blog, democraticunderground.com. and another Conservative blog Ace of Spades. Visitors to democraticunderground.com will quickly discover that the denizens that haunt that webpage are even more hateful, extreme, and more clearly typify the Left-wing Moonbat than do those who post their vile hatred on dailyKos. dailyKos has for that reason gained the unofficial stamp of approval of the Democrat Party and the website wields considerable power over the back channels of the DNC agenda.

Jim Robinson's freerepublic.com is perhaps the longest running political blog-site community on the web, it is certainly still the grand champion in rankings though it is now being challenged more and more by both dailyKos and Townhall.

Anyway, here is the Washington Past's article:

Online, GOP Is Playing Catch-Up
Democrats Have Big Edge on Web

By Jose Antonio Vargas
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, May 21, 2007; Page A01

When David All, a former Republican congressional aide, launched a blog recently that he hopes will spur his fellow Republicans to bridge the digital divide, he did his best to sound upbeat. "Today our Revolution begins," he wrote. "Tomorrow we fight."

But implicit in his cheerleading was the acknowledgment that there is a widening gap between Democrats and Republicans on the Internet, and that his party will have to scramble to catch up. "For the most part Republicans are stuck in Internet circa 2000," he said in an interview.

--------------Snip--------------

If conservatives have mastered talk radio -- with Limbaugh as the undisputed king of the AM dial -- those on the left hope to achieve the same dominance on the Internet. Daily Kos, a sounding board for opposition to Bush and the Iraq war, among other topics, leads most political blogs in Web traffic and notoriety. Last year, the site spawned Yearly Kos, the first political blogger convention. Its founder, Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, refers to himself as the site's "mayor," with everyone else "doing their own thing, managing their own projects, while I keep the plumbing running.

Moulitsas will concede the influence of conservative blogs and Web sites in the successful attack on Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) during his 2004 presidential campaign, when he was accused of exaggerating his service record during the Vietnam War, and on CBS News for its reporting on Bush's war record. He also concedes that Republicans have their own popular blogs, such as InstaPundit, RedState and Michelle Malkin's -- sites, he asserts, that are parts "of the Republican noise machine, affiliated to talk radio and Fox News." Malkin, the doyenne of the conservative blogosphere, is a frequent contributor to Fox News.
Here is a graph from Alexa comparing these five weblogs by traffic rankings over the past 6 months.

Thought the colors are difficult to distinguish here, the Red line is dailyKos.com, the darker blue line is freerepublic.com, the lighter blue line is Townhall.com. the greenish line is democraticunderground.com, and the black line is Ace of Spades.

The article mentions Michelle Malkin's weblog which ranks right up there with Ace of Spades and DU (the denizens of democraticunderground.com are referred to a "DU'ers", and they refer to the citizens of freerepublic.com ans "freepers"). He also mentions the Huffington Post which is really the juggernaut of the Left-wing blogsites, though it is more of a mainstream Dem. site than DU or dailyKos.

Here are the Rankings according to Alexa:

  1. Huffington Post - #2709
  2. WorldNetDaily - #4222
  3. dailyKos - #4394
  4. freerepublic - #5365
  5. Townhall - #6929
  6. Rushlimbaugh - #9934 (of course it's his radio program which makes him so formidable)
  7. littlegreenfootballs - #13466
  8. democraticunderground - #14156
  9. Ace of Spades - #16466
  10. Michelle Malkin - #21488

It becomes readily apparent that neither side dominates the web. Of course this doesn't include the Left-wing non-blog Mainstream news sites like, CNN.com, New York Time, FoxNews, Washington Post, Forbes, and the Drudge Report, or the Leftward biased news wings of Google.com Youtube, and Yahoo.com all of whom are in the top 100 sites.

Perhaps where Mr. Vargas does get it right, is that the mainstream Republicans are not paying as close attention to their constituents' blogs as are the Democrats. The "Kossack" as they like to refer to themselves exert a huge influence upon the mainstream Democrat Party. They were the prime movers behind the "dump Senator Joe Lieberman" movement and were partially successful, as they and those who worked with them did manage to knock Senator Lieberman out of the Democrat slot during the Democrat primary.

If the Republicans want to win the next election, they need to begin to pay attention to what their grass-roots Conservatives are telling them. Rush Limbaugh has it right, the American people do not want this horrible immigration legislation as it stands now.

The whole reason there is a rush to get this bill through Congress is so that the American people cannot find out what it is really about to do. The Democrats have been listening to their grass-roots bloggers and it paid off during the 2006 elections however, I hope sincerely that they continue to listen to these most Liberal of bloggers for the next election and adopt more of their goofy extremist agenda.

Republicans are strongest when they hold steadfast to their Conservative base. By spending like drunken sailors and adopting "moderate" legislation, they have alienated their base. The primary reason Democrats w0n the 2006 election was the large number of stay-at-home Conservatives who believed that they would succeed in sending a message to the Republican Party.

Apparently the message failed to take hold, because those same Republicans are still trying to out Democrat the Democrats.

Wake up you Repbulicans and read our blogs or you will surely suffer the same fate that you suffered last year.

Long Live This American Republic!!

Selling Out America to the Highest Vote Getter

With due respect for the Bard, "That which we call a compromise bill would smell as foul by any other name."

Folks, have no doubt about it, this is an amnesty bill. It is designed to fail, and it is designed to pander to the growing illegal Hispanic population in America in hopes (amazingly, by both parties) to curry favor in hopes of gaining votes. Will Republicans never learn that they just can't out Democrat Democrat's?

I am gravely disappointed by those Republicans who agreed with the corrupt war profiteeress Dianne Feinstein, that they should not "let the perfect be the enemy of the good."

Umm, Lady Di, once more one of you Democrat geniuses has completely reversed an old truism...the correct phrase is "Don't let the good be the enemy of the perfect." Why must our Congress always strive for mediocrity? Why are there no courageous politicians, willing to jeopardize their seats for what they know in their hearts to be right remaining in Congress? I guess the easy answer to that is because we Americans don't elect strong leaders into Congress, we elect "politicians," with all the foul meaning associated with that word.

Anyway, here's the Posts story. The link, as usual is in the title of this particular blog:

Deal on Immigration Reached
Bush Supports Senate's Bipartisan Compromise, but Hurdles Remain

By Jonathan Weisman
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, May 18, 2007; Page A01

The Bush administration and a bipartisan group of senators reached agreement yesterday on a sprawling overhaul of the nation's immigration laws that would bring an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants out of society's shadows while stiffening border protections and cracking down on employers of undocumented workers.

-------------------snip--------------------

The Senate deal would grant temporary legal status to virtually all illegal immigrants in the country, while allowing them to apply for residence visas and eventual citizenship. A temporary-worker program would allow as many as 400,000 migrants into the country each year, but they would have to leave after two years. And the current visa system, which stresses family ties, would be augmented by a complex point system that would favor skilled, educated workers. Most of those changes would take effect only after the implementation of tough new border controls and a crackdown on the employment of undocumented workers.

-------------------snip--------------------------

Democratic leaders were leery of three pivotal concessions to the conservatives. The first would make illegal immigrants' access to long-term visas and the new guest-worker program contingent upon the implementation of the border crackdown. Before those immigrant-rights measures could go into effect, the government must deploy 18,000 new Border Patrol agents and four unmanned aerial vehicles; build 200 miles of vehicle barriers, 370 miles of fencing, and 70 ground-based radar and camera towers; provide funds for the detention of 27,500 illegal immigrants a day; and complete new identification tools to help employers screen out illegal job applicants.

-------------------------snip-----------------

Another sticking point came from the proposed replacement of an immigration system primarily designed to reunify families with a point system that would give new emphasis to skills and education. Automatic family-reunification visas would no longer apply to the adult siblings and children of U.S. citizens, and visas for parents would be capped. Instead, points would be granted to migrants with work experience in high-demand occupations and who have worked for a U.S.-based firm. Additional points would be awarded based on education levels, English proficiency and family ties.

"We need to find a system that values and honors the work of all," said Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (Ill.), who is one of the Democrats entrusted by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) with developing a House bill. "The landscaper is just as important as the computer scientist."
If ever there was a clearer statement of the Marxist philosophy of the Democrat Party than Madame Speaker Pelosi's, I have yet to have heard it.

"The landscaper is just as important as the computer scientist."???
How so Madame Bela? If you are speaking as to their relative worth as human beings with souls, yes you are very correct, but if you are speaking, and I am certain that you are, of their relative contribution to the functioning of our society, then you are revealing for all the world to see your Marxist beliefs.

Of course some of us have never doubted your absolute belief in that failed, flawed, philosophy, from day one, but it is nice to hear you state it aloud.

Confession is good for the soul, and now perhaps you can begin to encourage the rest of your Marxist friends in Congress to confess their adherence to that atheistic, anti-American, illogical, and undeniably failed economic paradigm.

This Bill is an Anathema to any who believe that a nation must have control over its border or it is a nation no more. It is a gift to those in the "Re-Conquista" movement (those Hispanics who seek to return ownership of the Southwest and California to Mexican control) which guarantees further mass illegal immigration.

We have been down this road before during the Reagan administration. That bill was also supposed to "solve the illegal immigration problem." Of course all it did was exacerbate the problem.

Until a solid, insurmountable barrier is placed across the entire border, illegal aliens will continue their invasion of our nation, and remain a threat to our national identity and security.

More Deep Compassion for o Our War Dead and Their Greiving Families from the Left

Once more folks, we are blessed by a perfect example of exactly what Liberals and Democrats mean when they claim to be the party of compassion.

Once more we see that they don't care how much emotional hurt they inflict on the families of our fallen American heroes, as long as they can use them to promote their political agenda.

States crack down on soldier T-shirts

By PAUL DAVENPORT
Associated Press Writer
Thu May 17, 4:53 PM ET

PHOENIX - Incensed by the sale of anti-war T-shirts and other paraphernalia emblazoned with the names and pictures of America's military dead, some states are outlawing the commercial use of the fallen without the permission of their families.

Despite serious questions of constitutionality, Oklahoma and Louisiana enacted such laws last year, and the governors of Texas and Florida have legislation waiting on their desks. Arizona lawmakers are on the verge of approving a similar measure.

"You should have some rights to your own name and your own legacy, particularly if you're a deceased veteran," said state Sen. Jim Waring, a Republican who sponsored the Arizona bill. "Celebrities have that. Why shouldn't our soldiers have that?"

-----------------------------snip----------------------

Margy Bons, a Phoenix-area woman whose Marine reservist son, Sgt. Michael A. Marzano, was killed by an insurgent bomb in Iraq in 2005, said he believed in his mission.

"My son was not duped into going to war," she said. "I'm angry that somebody can use somebody else's name for their political beliefs without permission."

-----------------------------snip---------------------

Frazier said he has sold a couple of thousand shirts through his Web site, http://www.carryabigsticker.com, since 2005 and regards it as more of a political statement than a moneymaker. He said the shirts, which sell for $20 to $22, are expensive to produce.

----------------------------snip----------------------

"You can't make some irrational distinctions and stop some people and not others without a really good reason," said Paul Bender, an Arizona State University professor and a top Justice Department official in the Clinton administration.

Bender said the shirts are clearly a political statement: "He's not advertising anything on the T-shirts
First, let's deal with the outright lies being put forward by Mr. Frazier and Mr. Bender.

Mr. Frazier claims that the shirts he is selling for $20-$22, are expensive to produce. I have direct experience in this and what he is calling expensive amounts at most to $6.00 or $8.00 at the very most. Those figures are probably high, very possibly double his cost, depending on how many of them he has pre-printed, but ltet's be generous and go with that figure, add to that "free shipping" at a cost of about $1.50-$2.00/shirt and we come up with a nice round figure of a per shirt cost of %10.00.

That means that these "couple of thousand" shirts which he claims "as more of a political statement than a moneymaker," have a profit margin of 100%. By my math, that means if by a "couple of thousand" he means say 2300 shirts, he has made a net profit of $23,000.00 ( and possibly as much as $31,000.00) from the names of our deceased war heroes.

Sounds like a really good money maker to me.

So now we come to the claim of Mr. Paul Bender who, being a "top justice official in the Clinton administration knows something about corruption and about lying, that "the shirts are clearly a political statement: "He's not advertising anything on the T-shirts."

I don't know Paul, but it looks like at the very bottom-right of the list of names on the back of the shirt, he has his website and/or a copyright listed. To my mind that is advertising, and it is undeniable that Mr. Frazier is making a pretty fair profit off of the names of our war dead.

Perhaps if Mr. Frazier was selling these shirts at cost, or if he was donating all of the proceeds to say...a fund for helping the families of these fallen heroes, or for helping the recovery of our injured returning soldiers, than he might have the right to claim it as a "political statement," but the fact remains that he is pocketing this blood money for his own selfish purposes.

Now I'm all for free enterprise and capitalism, but not on the backs of our war dead. And not at the expense of the emotional well-being of their bereaved back here at home. This comes very close to war-profiteering.

Of course we all know from the Dianne Feinstein corruption scandal that Liberals are not averse to war profiteering. She stands as a shining beacon of that despicable practice.

So I am forced toask my Liberal friends, where is this compassion we hear so much about from your loud,rude, and far too often crude voices? Huh? What's that? I'm sorry, I can't quite hear you.

Oh! You're saying that you know that this would ordinarily be considered a perfect example of hypocrisy, but that Liberals can't be guilty of hypocrisy because they are serving a higher moral goal. The ends justifies the means...Oh yeah, I forgot.

What this guy is doing is detestable and simply continues to demonstrate the complete amorality and lack of real compassion which exemplifies the Democrat Party and the Liberals who control it.

Dianne Feinstein is morally outraged at the dismissal of a few U.S. Attornies by an administration that was well within its rights to do so, but she has no qualms about building a $24 million dollar estate with the money her husband made off of contracts she directed to his companies.

Yep, typical Liberal.

Messr. Bender and Frazier see nothing wrong with making a few bucks off of the lives of our war dead, as long as it promotes their anti-war, anti-military, anti-American agenda.

Yep, typical Liberals.

Time for a Good Laugh!

I received this in my e-mail today, and rather than make anykind of political comment, I'll just let it speak for itself:

Garfield on the Oil Shortage

A lot of folks can't understand how we came
to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil!

So we just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.
OUR OIL is located in
Democrats Strong Advocates of Freedom of Speech?
The American Spectator's Washington Prowler reports a disturbing but not terribly surprising bit of Liberal Hypocrisy.
You remember Liberals, they're the ones who so loudly proclaim themselves to be the real advocates of freedom. They are the ones who slyly refer to Orwell's book 1984 whenever they discuss Christian Conservatives and the Vast Right-wing Conspiracy, implying the threat that should these ultra-right-wingers get control of our government, then freedom will be a thing of the past.
I have routinely claimed the reverse, stating that it is the Left, not the Right in America who represent the genuine threat to freedom. It is they on the Left who come up with the approved lexicon for public speaking. Certain words, usually chosen by those same Liberals because some special interest group has complained about the way in which they were referred to.
So now we come to the Spectator article:
Her Royal Fairness
SALEM'S WITCH TRIAL
According to two members of the House Democrat Caucus, Reps. Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer have informed them that they will "aggressively pursue" reinstatement of the so-called Fairness Doctrine over the next six months. In January, Democrat presidential candidate Rep. Dennis Kucinich announced that he was going to pursue the Fairness Doctrine through his Government Reform subcommittee. That announcement was greeted with silence. But now, Pelosi has moved things to the front burner.
Much of the doctrine, regulated through the FCC, was largely dumped in 1987. Other parts of it, related to "personal attack" rule and the "political editorial" rule, remained in place until 2000. The personal attack rule required anyone "attacked" over the airwaves to be notified beforehand and given an opportunity to respond. A similar rule was followed for the political editorial, where a broadcaster endorsing one political candidate or issue had to give similar time for a response from those not endorsed or supported.
The decision to press for re-establishment of the Fairness Doctrine now seems to have developed for two reasons. "First, [Democrats] failed on the radio airwaves with Air America, no one wanted to listen," says a senior adviser to Pelosi. "Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it. Second, it looks like the Republicans are going to have someone in the presidential race who has access to media in ways our folks don't want, so we want to make sure the GOP has no advantages going into 2008."
So there you have straight from the jackass' mouth (Pelosi's senior advisor). The Donkey Party is trying to silence the opposition, and they are attempting to do so by passing a law which clearly violates the First Amendment to the Constitution-of course we are all well aware that Democrats care nothing for the Constitution or the Bill of Rights unless it serves their own narrow political purposes.
The use of political office to pass laws aimed at silencing dissent and aimed at silencing individual citizens shoud be grounds for expulsion from Congress. It is a gross abuse of their legislative powers and a corruption of the entire legislative process. Dennis Kucinich should be declared an anathema by all freedom loving people for his intent to muzzle the free speech of those with whom he disagrees.
If Nancy Pelosi is behind this movement as her "senior advisor" is quoted as stating, she too should be removed. She has alread committed a crime by violating the Logan Act in acting as a diplomatic agent of America against the specific request and desires of the President who alone in the Constitution is given the power to negotiate with foreign governments.
The clearest abuse of power by a politician is the attempt to use their position as a legislator to assist their party in winning elections. The fact of this effort makes clear once again the even the Democrats know they are incapable of competing with Republicans on a level playing field.
Wake up America, Democrats are attempting to steal our government and our rights to free speech (among others-say the right to keep and bear arms-for example).
Senate Ethics Committee AWOL? Senator Dianne Feinstein
Hi folks, it turns out that this is not even a new story. Metroactive originally published their story the week of January 24-30, 2007. Their leading paragraph:
“In the November 2006 election, the voters demanded congressional ethics reform. And so, the newly appointed chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is now duly in charge of regulating the ethical behavior of her colleagues.”
Hmmm…I guess we know one reason that there has been no ethics investigation in the intervening months since this story first became public. I wonder if it is a coincidence that Lady DiFi (or is that DEFY) was appointed to chair the Senate Rules Committee. Do ya think maybe?
Hamlet isn’t the only one smelling something fishy in Denmark…or is that DEM-mark?
Well the silence continues in the Democrat Controlled Mainstream Media. Still no major news outlet…except of course for FoxNews and the “Beltway insider’s” weekly,
TheHill.com - Feinstein’s Cardinal shenanigans
By David Keene
April 30, 2007
…In other words, it appears Sen. Feinstein was up to her ears in the same sort of shenanigans that landed California Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R) in the slammer. Indeed, it may be that the primary difference between the two is basically that Cunningham was a minor leaguer and a lot dumber than his state’s senior senator.
Melanie Sloan, the executive director of Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington, or CREW, usually focuses on the ethical lapses of Republicans and conservatives, but even she is appalled at the way Sen. Feinstein has abused her position.
Sloan told a California reporter earlier this month that while”there are a number of members of Congress with conflicts of interest … because of the amount of money involved, Feinstein’s conflict of interest is an order of magnitude greater than those conflicts.”
And the director of the Project on Government Oversight who examined the evidence of wrongdoing assembled by California writer Peter Byrne told him that “the paper trail showing Senator Feinstein’s conflict of interest is irrefutable.”
It may be irrefutable, but she almost got away without anyone even knowing what she was up to. Her colleagues on the subcommittee, for example, had no reason even to suspect that she knew what companies might benefit from her decisions because that information is routinely withheld to avoid favoritism.
What they didn’t know was that her chief legal adviser, who also happened to be a business partner of her husband’s and the vice chairman of one of the companies involved, was secretly forwarding her lists of projects and appropriation requests that were coming before the committee and in which she and her husband had an interest — information that has only come to light recently as a result of the efforts of several California investigative reporters.”
I told you it was way bigger than the Duke Cunningham scandal.
People this cover-up is massive in scope and it appears that Republicans in Congress are so afraid of the Democrats and their propaganda corps in the MSM, that they are either unable or unwilling to expend the political capital necessary to expose this outrage.
It is time for the people, like you Dear Reader, to pick up your telephones, your ink-pens, or your e-mail and write to your Congressmen and Senators. This discrepancy in treatment and this cover-up must not be allowed to occur. If a genuine, certified WAR HERO can be sentenced to 8 years for his sins, then this frightful Marxist harridan must not be allowed to avoid punishment.
Dianne Feinstein is an affront to all who believe in the Constitution and those who believe that government corruption is wrong and should be punished. She has led the battle to disarm the American citizens. She has been a tireless champion for the gun-confiscation crowd.
Senator DiFi has also been one of the loudest and most self-righteous of the inquisitors at the Stalinist Spanish...err…Senate Inquisition of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in their desperate search for anything unethical, or illegal, or just plain impolite in the firings of the 8 U.S. Attorneys.
There can be little wonder that there is not Senate Ethics Committee Investigation pending, because of her afore-mentioned appointment as Chair of the Senate Rules Committee…allow me to rephrase that, there will be no investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee, not by the House Appropriations committee, nor by any other Congressional committee with jurisdiction.
At least now we know why the Democrats were so upset with the “Republican Culture of Corruption.” They were embarrassed by the miniscule size of the scandals of which those few Republicans were guilty. I mean where was their sense of pride?
It takes a Democrat to make a really good scandal, one worth reporting and investigating…except this time their has been no investigating…by anyone in the MSM or in Congress.
Today I have searched:
  • CBSNews.com
  • ABCNews.com
  • NBC.com
  • MSNBC.com
  • CNN.com
  • Yahoo News
  • Google News
Well “Surprise Surprise!” If you do a search for “Feinstein scandal” under Google’s News search, you will find the story, but not on any major media outlet.
We find NewBuster.com has a story about it, KXMB in Bismarck, S.D. has an article on their webpage, Human Events has a story about it, but most results from such a search connect you to stories concerning either Karl Rove’s e-mail non-scandal, scandal, or the Alberto Gonzales non-scandal, scandal.
Yep once more seems as though the conspiracy of silence continues throughout the “non-biased mainstream media (or as we know it, the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party).
Well, here’s another surprise; Antiwar.com has been following this story at least since this article of March 1, 2006”
The Democrats' Daddy Warbucks - by Joshua Frank
Sen. Dianne Feinstein's husband, Richard Blum, could well be called the Democrats' Daddy Warbucks. He's scored bundles from war contracts. He has recently purchased a $16.5 million crib in San Francisco and along with his wife has handed hundreds of thousands of dollars over to fellow Democrats. Since the 2000 election cycle, Blum has contributed over $75,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Committee, and thousands more to individual Democrats, including John Kerry, Robert Byrd, Joe Lieberman, Ted Kennedy, and Barbara Boxer.
------------------snip----------------
Here are the basics to date: Blum currently holds over 111,000 shares of stock in URS Corporation, which is now one of the top defense contractors in the United States. Blum is an acting director of URS, which bought
EG&G, a leading provider of technical services and management to the U.S. military, from The Carlyle Group in 2002. Carlyle's trusty advisers, past and present, include former President George H.W. Bush, James Baker, and ex-SEC Commissioner Arthur Levitt, among other prominent neoconservatives and Washington power brokers.
URS and Blum have since banked on the Iraq war, scoring a phat $600 million contract through EG&G. As a result, URS has seen its stock price more than triple since the war began in March 2003. Blum has cashed in over $2 million on this venture alone and another $100 million for his investment firm.
Hey…I remember the “Carlyle Group.” Aren’t they the nefarious and legendary “corrupt Republican Multi-national, control everything organization” which Liberals and conspiracy moonbats claim as one of THE organizations? You know THOSE organizations like:
  • The Illuminati
  • The Free-Masons
  • Skull and Bones
  • The Bilderberger Group
  • The Bush Crime Family
  • The British Royal Family
  • AIPAC
  • The Martians…etc. etc,..ad nauseum
Funny how these things keep popping up. Almost like…a conspiracy…hmm I wonder…
Crikey Mate, I’m beginning to sound like one of those conspiracy freaks over at http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/ or http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/ (both are worth visiting anytime you want a good laugh.
Anyway, I’ll continue to “beat the bushes” on this scandal. It is just too juicy and too big to ignore. I am astounded that, even given the profound Leftward bias of the reporters of the MSM, none of them has picked it up. This has got to be a ticket to fame and glory for any reporter gutsy enough to pursue it…well that or the grave…kind of like Vince Foster, right Hillary?
Mysterious Silence of Big Media Over Dianne Feinstein's Scandal Continues
Well, same story next day. I have conducted complete sitewide searches of:
  • The New York Times
  • The Washington Post
  • The Atlanta Journal Constitution
  • The Los Angelos Times
  • The San Francisco Chronicle
  • The Houston Chronicle
  • The St. Louis Post Dispatch
  • The Wall Street Journal
Not one of these "Bastions of Journalistic Integrity" have mentioned, in any way, the Lady DiFi military profiteering scandal. As far as I know the only Houston Chronicle readers who will read about it are those who are referred to this blog by the Houston Chronicle Blog-watch.
Isn't it amazing how the "un-biased" newsmedia is somehow missing the biggest scandal to hit Washington D.C. in years.
Nothing the of which Bush Administration has been accused comes close in breadth and scope to this corruption of the mechanism for awarding military contracts by Senator and self-righteous prig, Dianne Feinstein.
DiFi has been one of the leading attack dogs against the DOJ and Attorney General Gonzales in the manufactured "scandal" surrounding the administration's firings of 8 U.S. District Attorneys. These Attorneys serve "at the pleasure of the President," and there is nothing illega, immoral, or unethical about these firings, yet Dianne Feinstein-War Profiteeress-has been vigilent in her efforts to find something to condemn in them...and failing.
Could it be that she is more concerned about keeping the DOJ busy defending the AG so that they won't turn their attention to her and her husbands scandalous dealings.
Lest we forget, we are talking about over a Billion Dollars of Tax-payer money being directed under "no-bid" contracts to companies owned and run by DiFi's husband, at her direction.
This is corruption on a massive scale...far in excess of the Duke Cunningham scandal, and rivaling the Abramoff scandal, yet from the "unbiased media" comes nothing.
We're not talking about small articles buried on the back pages of the newspapers, we are talking about a complete news blackout. Not one word about Feinstein's stepping down as Chairwoman of the Senate Subcommittee for Military Contracts.
The silence on the Left is deafening.
Apparently our national press corps is only interested in Republican scandals, not Democrat scandals. Any Liberal who dares to tell you that there is not Liberal bias in the Press needs to laughed out of the room.
The Democrat Party is an ammoral, bunch of sociopaths who believe that they are above the rest of the American people. They believe that anything they do is justified if it furthers their ambition of ruling the nation. You can see it in their reaction to members in Congress who fail to "toe the line" and in the national press, whose primary function has become to be cheerleaders for the Democrat policies.
There is no objectivity remaining in the mainstream print media, and none remaining in the various news services.
People you have got to begin to write letters to the editors and producers of these outlets if America stands a chance of surviving. Today's news media have become "1984." They have a select vocabulary of approved speech, and a select agenda of approved political issues.
Anyone who steps out of line will be hounded, pursued, and destroyed by any means, fair or foul, in their pursuit of complete and total domination.
This is one reason that I am astounded, but very greatful that the Houston Chronicle Blog Watch continues to monitor and occasionally feature my blog.
Long Live the American Republic!
Senator Dianne Feinstein, War “Profiteeress”
Wow, talk about a “culture of corruption. Hoo boy this is a big one. Duke Cunningham stand aside, Halliburton…to the back of the line, here comes Senator/Chairman Dianne Feinstein. Who says blondes and men have all the fun? Sorry for the length of this one folks but it’s just too juicy to give it short shrift.
Feinstein was forced to “resign” her position of Chair of the Senate Military Appropriations Subcommittee this week.
”If you missed this, don’t blame it on the Conservative media; blame it on the absolute silence of the MSM (Paleo-media). A quick but careful search of both the New York Lies, and the Washington Pest webpages revealed…zero, nada, riente, zippo, absolutely no mention of Feinstein’s decision to step down or of the scandal evolving around her (hey, and you thought there was no such thing as evolution).
I would guess that they have been so busy concentrating on their primary obligations as propaganda ministries for the Democrat Party that this “small” story just “slipped under the radar.”…Uh-huh.
Seems that Senator Feinstein (Our Lady DiFi of the Most Holy See of California) gained much of her wealth from some rather shady dealings in which her husband, Richard C. Blum, owner of two major defense contractors was awarded $ Billions-yes that’s Billions with a “B” in military construction contacts which she approved.
That’s right folks, Senator Feinstein has profited immensely from contracts that she personally awarded to her husband’s companies.
The Silicon Valleys weekly newspaper,
“Metroactive” reported on April 28th of this year that Madame Chairwoman Feinstein:
“As MILCON leader Feinstein…regularly took junkets to military bases around the world to inspect construction projects, some of which were contracted to her husband's companies, Perini Corp. and URS Corp…
Perhaps she resigned from MILCON because she could not take the heat generated by
Metro's exposé of her ethics (which was partially funded by the Investigative Fund of the Nation Institute). Or was her work on the subcommittee finished because Blum divested ownership of his military construction and advanced weapons manufacturing firms in late 2005?
The MILCON subcommittee is not only in charge of supervising military construction, it also oversees "quality of life" issues for veterans, which includes building housing for military families and operating hospitals and clinics for wounded soldiers. Perhaps Feinstein is trying to disassociate herself from MILCON's incredible failure to provide decent medical care for wounded soldiers.
Two years ago, before the Washington Post became belatedly involved, the online magazine Salon.com exposed the horrors of deficient medical care for Iraq war veterans. While leading MILCON, Feinstein had ample warning of the medical-care meltdown. But she was not proactive on veteran's affairs…it was becoming clear that her subcommittee left grievously wounded veterans to rot while her family was profiting from the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.
It turns out that Blum also holds large investments in companies that were selling medical equipment and supplies and real estate leases—often without the benefit of competitive bidding—to the Department of Veterans Affairs, even as the system of medical care for veterans collapsed on his wife's watch.”
[Emphasis added]
I am certain that you are not “shocked” by this paragon of Liberal virtue’s hypocrisy, it seems to be de rigueur for those on the Left, but you may be surprised to learn of it at all, given the Liberal media’s complete blackout concerning this huge scandal.
On March 18th of this year, Madame DiFi was interviewed by Bob Sheiffer on CBS’ “Face the Nation” regarding Attorney General Gonzales’ firing of 8 U.S. District Attorneys. I find it interesting to read what she stated at that time, given the immensity of this scandal.
CBS News’ Webpage has the following"
"Inconvenient" U.S. Attorneys Fired?
Sen. Dianne Feinstein Says Attorneys Working Major Corruption Cases Were Let Go
WASHINGTON D.C., March 18, 2007
“Feinstein said Carol Lam was fired after she sent a notice to the Justice Department that she had a case against Dusty Foggo, a defense contractor. "The next day, an e-mail went from the Justice Department to the White House saying 'We have a real problem with Carol Lam,'" Feinstein told Chief Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer.
"All I'm saying, as the evidence comes in, as we look at the e-mails, there were clearly U.S. attorneys that were thorns in the side — for one reason or another — of the Justice Department. And they decided, by strategy, in one fell swoop, to get rid of seven of them on that day, December the 7th."
Lady DiFi has been on the forefront of the attacks against Attorney General Gonzales, and now perhaps we know why. Is it possible that Lady DiFi was just being “proactive” in protecting herself from investigation?
The press just couldn’t say enough about Randall Duke Cunningham’s story and the $2.4 million in “bribes” he was convicted of taking, Even being a real war hero (unlike those the Democrats like to trot out during election time) was not enough to insulate him from the barrage of hate and self-righteous indignation meted out by the press and especially by his colleagues in Congress. Cunningham was sentenced to 8 years for his transgressions.
BBC news added this on the Cunningham story:
District Judge Larry Burns asked why Cunningham took such a course.
"You weren't wet. You weren't cold. You weren't hungry and yet you did these things," he said.
"I think what you've done is you've undermined the opportunity that honest politicians have to do a good job."
Washington historian Fred W Beuttler told the Associated Press that Cunningham's corruption was the worst in the history of Congress.
"In the sheer dollar amount, he is the most corrupt," he said.
Prosecutor Phil Halpern said Cunningham helped award contracts that squandered millions of dollars on "systems the military didn't ask for, didn't need and frequently didn't use".
What Cunningham did was kid’s play compared to that of which Feinstein and her husband stand accused. I wonder if Fred W. Beuttler will now amend his statement about Cunningham to say, “except for that of Senator Feinstein?” I wonder if Judge Larry Burns will say the same thing about Senator Feinstein’s abuses that he said in reference to Randy Cunningham’s?
Democrats have been blaming President Bush for the conditions at the veterans hospitals including Walter Reed, perhaps they need to look a little closer to home; seems Ms. Senator “self-righteous” Feinstein has been dipping into that Federal till as well.
$2.4 Million for “Duke?”
Try these numbers out for size [again from “Metroactive]”
As of December 2006, according to SEC filings and www.fedspending.org, three corporations in which Blum's financial entities own a total of $1 billion in stock won considerable favor from the budgets of the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs:
  • Boston Scientific Corporation: $17.8 million for medical equipment and supplies; 85 percent of contracts awarded without benefit of competition.
  • Kinetic Concepts Inc.: $12 million, medical equipment and supplies; 28 percent noncompetitively awarded.
  • CB Richard Ellis: The Blum-controlled international real estate firm holds congressionally funded contracts to lease office space to the Department of Veterans Affairs. It also is involved in redeveloping military bases turned over to the private sector.
Now that’s what I call corruption with a capital “C” (or is that D.N.C?)
Eight years for Cunningham, what are we going to see for Feinstein, 15? 20? I wouldn’t bet on it folks. I’ll be surprised if this even makes it into the court system.
I tell you people, between Harry “the Real Estate Tycoon” Reid and Dianne “the War Profiteeress” Feinstein, Democrats don’t have a leg to stand on in accusing Republicans of corruption considering the pikers they have turned out to be.
From
“WorldNetDaily” comes this gem:
from 2001 to 2005, URS earned $792 million from military construction and environmental cleanup work approved by MILCON, while Perini collected $759 million for the same.
Feinstein's annual Public Financial Disclosure Reports record sizeable family income from investments in the Framingham, Mass.-based Perini and the San Francisco-located URS. But there was no acknowledgment of any conflict of interest, according to Metroactive, a "Northern California meta-site" that specializes in arts and entertainment information from area publications: Metro, Silicon Valley's Weekly Newspaper; Metro Santa Cruz; and the North Bay Bohemian.
Byrne also reported Michael R. Klein, an adviser to Feinstein and business partner with Blum, said that starting in 1997 he routinely told Feinstein about federal projects coming before her in which Perini had a stake, in order for her to avoid those votes and as such, a conflict of interest.
However, instead of withholding a vote, she did act on those pieces of legislation, Byrne reported. Ultimately, "the Congressional Record shows that as chairperson and ranking member of MILCON, Feinstein was often involved in supervising the legislative details of military construction projects that directly affected Blum's defense-contracting firms," Byrne's report said.
Whatever happened to that “More ethical, more open government that the Democrats promised?
Where is the “unbiased” mainstream media I keep hearing Liberals refer to on this?
Where is the Attorney General’s office on this?
Where is the Congressional Budget Office on this?
Where is the Senate Ethics Committee on this?
Why is a scandal this big not currently the “talk of the town” in D.C. media circles?
Come to think of it, why is William Jefferson, D. La. still not under indictment for his “cold” hard cash dealings?
Democrat Party-Ethics? I’m surprised they can even get the two words out without being struck by lightning.
Long Live Our American Republic!
