This Ought To Sour A Few Democrat and RINO Stomachs
Hey, this little bit of news from the War Against the Global Islamic Jihad (WAGIJ) cannot be thrilling to the surrender monkeys in the Democrat and Repbulican Parties. Just as the Democrats are doing their darndest to give-up the in the WAGIJ in Iraq, comes this little jewell from Baghdad:
Only once before in our nation's history has Congress been so determined to surrender in the face of victory and both times it has been the Liberals, both Democrat and Republican who have led the call for "RETREAT," just as we were winning.
I am going to keep throwing Karl "Rasputin" Rove's words in the Democrat's faces until they gag over the truth of them:
President Bush was correct all when he spoke after the horrendous, un-provoked, attack against our nation by the cowardly terrorist thugs of our enemies in the WAGIJ:
All of these people who protest, jeer, name call, whine, and seek to undermine the moral of our nation's citizens, and our troops in combat are guilty of sedition. They have become the face of our WAGIJ enemies in America. They are not the "loyal opposition," they are enemy sympathizers, and all the empty rhetoric they spew about how they "support the troops but not the mission" is just so much hogwash.
These "loyal" Americans have repeatedly done all they could do, errected every barrier of which they could conceive, told every enemy propagandist lie they could think of to obstruct our President and the Department of Defense in fighting this war. It is not difficult to see the fruits of their anti-American labor; one only has to listen to their words being thrown back at us by the leaders of the enemies we fight.
In World War II these people would have been arrested and charged with crimes against the state. Even more likely, they would have been set upon by their neighbors and silenced in a more direct and emphatic method. Of course I would never advocate violence against our fellow "loyal citizens," but the idea does have a certain visceral appeal.
The problem lies in the inability or should I say the continued inability (or politically motivated, intentional inability) of Liberals to comprehend a simple but profound truth. We are at war with an enemy who does not negotiate, does not show mercy, and will not stop until they are forced to by might of arms and weight of public opinion.
Liberals seem inherently incapable of understanding that there are "bad people" in the world. They seem incapable of comprehending that those "bad people" are not interested in "peaceful coexistence" or playing nice; they are only interested in the death or conversion of all who do not adopt their own "warped" version of Islam (I say "warped" because I keep being told that Islam is the "Religion of Peace," though I have seen very little that convinces me of those claims).
In the warped view of these Liberals, America is always the bad actor. America is always to blame for the ills of the world. Hell, today we just found out that "it was George Bush's fault" that the bridge in Minnesota collapsed.
We are winning this War Against the Global Islamic Jihad. We are winning it both militarily-something the surrender monkeys continually remind us cannot be done-and diplomatically-something the surrender monkeys repeatedly told us would not ever occur.
Liberals have been wrong for so long one would imagine they have forgotten what the truth is. They were wrong about Stalin and the people of the Soviet Union died by the tens of millions; they were wrong about Mao and the Chinese people died by the tens of millions; they were wrong on the Vietnam war and the Cambodian and Vietnamese people died by the millions, in every case, the Liberals were wrong, and their victims paid a horrendous price in lives lost.
How many more times will Americans be fooled by the lies of the Liberals in the media and in our political system? How many Iraqi deaths will occur should we follow Democrat/RINO policy and withdraw our forces from Iraq? How many Iraqi deaths will satisfy the Liberal lust for power and control of our government?
How about it Liberals? Is 1 million enough? How about 5 million? Maybe 10 million? Would that slake your lust for blood and power?
I believe the world has had quite enough "Liberal Wisdom." I believe the "Pacifists" have killed enough innocent civilians through their know-it-all do-gooder interference. I think it is time to consider that maybe the Liberals and their Pollyanna-ish ideals of pacifism have done enough damage to the world.
I believe that Amnesty International and their efforts to "free the illegally held prisoners in Guantanamo" have more than proven themselves to be rosy-spectacled fools by the continued recidivism of "Gitmo" detainees who have been released at their behest and the actions of Liberal judges and lawyers.
War is not a game. It is not pretty; it is not nice; and it cannot be won by following foolish self-defeating rules like those set down in the Geneva Accords. No nation that America has fought since the signing of the absurdly naive Geneva Accords has abided by those accords. All of our allies have done so, but none of the enemies we have fought, not the Nazi's, not the North Koreans, not the Soviets, not the Chinese Communists, not the North Vietnamese, not Hamas, not the Taliban, and not al Qaeda...none, not a single enemy has been foolish enough to abide by those accords.

Just because Conservatives understand what you seem unwilling or incapable of comprehending does not mean that we live in fear. It means that we believe that we should be prepared. It means that we believe that we should stand firm in the face of our enemy. It means that we should not be gullible enough to believe the lies of our enemies.
It appears to me that it is you Liberals who live in constant fear. You seem to see conspiracy in every act of your own government and love in the eyes of those who seek to kill us. Yours is a dangerous combination of fear and naivete. Oh and I do not buy your own fearmongering over the chimerical threat to our civil liberties from the efforts of the Bush administration. I do not see the hand of Karl Rove behind every Democrat screw-up. I do not fear that Dick Cheney might give the nation to Halliburton.

BAGHDAD, Aug. 6, 2007 – Fed-up with violent and indiscriminate terror tactics, a group of more than 80 residents of the Adhamiyah district, on the east side of the Iraqi capital, banded together yesterday to oust suspected terrorists from a local mosque.
The uprising led to a string of events over the next 12 hours that ultimately resulted in the arrest of 44 suspected terrorists and the capture of three weapons caches.
The initial takeover of the Abu Hanifa Mosque occurred at about 2 p.m., apparently triggered by news that terrorists had murdered two relatives of a prominent local sheik. As the news spread, angry residents joined the sheik to storm the mosque, long believed to be a sanctuary for terrorists operating in the area, and ousted the suspected terrorists inside from the building.
Iraqi army troops from 1st Battalion, 1st Brigade, 11th Infantry Division, responded quickly to control the situation and secure the area around the mosque. Residents led them to several individuals among those ousted from the mosque who were suspected of being involved in terrorist activities. Thirteen suspects eventually were detained.
After order was restored, the Iraqi army received a tip about a weapons cache hidden near the mosque. At about 7 p.m., Iraqi forces returned to the Abu Hanifa Mosque and uncovered a massive illegal weapons cache in an outside courtyard. The cache contained several already-assembled improvised explosive devices, dynamite, mortars, rockets, landmines, bomb-making materials, and various weapons."

I guess someone forgot to tell the Iraqi Parliament since they decided to take the month off while our troops continue to fight, but then again, right now it is really hot in Iraq, too. They are probably at the pool also checking out those hot burka clad Iraqi babes.

Well Strawman what does the Iraqi Parliament, in session or out, have to do with protecting our national security? Probably a heck of a lot less than our own Dorothy with her Ruby Slippers Congress taking the month of August off after proclaiming themselves the achievers of the year.
As I said, and surprisingly you managed to correctly quote: "We are at war." Not "They are at war," or "The Iraqi's are at war," but "We (that's all freedom loving people-or should be) are at war."
You guys in the Lollipop Guild just seem unable to cope with reality, so you make up your own. Iraq, my friend, is only one part of the WAGIJ. It may be a very important one, but it is only one. Those fools you are so worshipfully following up in Washinton...oh yeah, they're not there right now...still haven't finished the business that they proclaimed they would accomplish in the "First 100 Hours."
Bela "The Wicked Witch of the Left" Pelosi and Snively "The Cowardly Lion" Reid have set a new record for how little time Congress has spent in session (I would point out that is precisely the opposite of what they promised they would do but I'm certain you'll have an excuse for them), and how little they have managed to accomplish.
Congress has hit a new low in their ability to get along or to get things done...under the gentle tutelage the the Democrat whip.
Gee, let's see what they accomplished...they raised the minimum wage-Ooh, yeah that's a major accomplishment, now college kids will have more money to spend on liquor...they passed a bill (SCHILD) which now defines a twenty-five year old as a child-Okay, I admit, most twenty-five year olds have the brains and education of an eleven year old these days, but still twenty-five is a child?-yeah right. Even better, they did it on the backs of our Elderly and our Veterans...they passed a much needed correction to the unconstitutional FISA law-for a whopping 6 months-gee I feel safer already.
If this is what we can expect from Democrat leadership, then we are in a world of hurt.
Of course they failed to pass the funding that even "Foxy-Loxy" Biden said would help protect our troops from IED's. I guess pandering to the tin-hat brigade is much more important than the lives of our troops..." We've gotta get home to spin the good news coming out of Iraq before people start believing the truth...err...inform our voters so we can win the 2008 election.

I lived up there in God's country around Florham Park for four years back in the late 60's. I still miss having four real seasons.
Loved the people, didn't (and still don't) care much for the politics.

Almost all of your reply was devoted to a discussion of Congress and its actions on subjects other than the Iraq war and therefore not related to the topic which I was addressing. ( I would be glad to discuss these other areas in another post.) Sure it’s a war, but it in not like World War 2 when the country got to work and committed its manpower and industrial capacity toward winning the war. It is more like the Vietnam War where people could watch it on television, but it was not the main focus of the nation’s business. For year after year the Johnson and Nixon administrations said it was vital to national security to continue the war. But the effort was abandoned in the Ford administration and the country fell to North Vietnam without any damage to American security.
Whatever the original aims for the Iraq war were, whether eliminating WMDs or removing Saddam Hussein, they have been achieved. Unfortunately we now see that Bush has stepped into a big pile of Shiite and he can’t get it off him. He needs to leave behind some form of governmental stability, so it does not really help when the Shiite Iraqi parliament clears out for vacation instead of working on their problems.
Do you think that when the war is over Iraq is going to be one of our security allies? It looks more probable that Iran will gain a Shia friendly neighbor in place or its former adversary of a Saddam Ba’ath led Iraq. In terms of balance of force foreign policies, it appears that Bush has actually damaged our national security.

Your tracker is messed up as I live in Houston also.
First the effort was abandoned during the Ford administration, but not by the Ford administration. It was abandoned by precisely the same sort of morons who are now in control of Congress. The names have (for the most part) changed, but the IQ level remains the same, if not substantially lower.
Our failure in Vietnam may not have had major longterm consequences on our national security as far as the cold war is concerned, but it is beyond naivete to say that our retreat in the face of victory there had no consequences. It is one of the reasons that Osama bin Laden believed that Americans would never be able to defeat the Islamic Jihadi's. He mentioned it specifically just as he mentioned our withdrawals from Lebanon and Somalia.
Tell me what do you think will generate more support for Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda and what will more strengthen the hand of Ahmadinejad in Iran, our continued and growingly successful occupation and eventual successful conclusion of our fight against terrorism in Iraq and the civil unrest they (along with Ahmadinejad's regime) seek to incite, or the untimely withdrawal of our troops from Iraq in the face of those same enemies?
How effective a recruiting tool for al Qaeda do you think it would be for them to say "See we can defeat the 'Great Satan' if we only persevere?"
Second, if you can criticize the Iraqi Parliament for leaving during the war you must be equally contemptuous of our own Congress for doing the same thing. Our two nation's fates are inextricably linked. If the Iraqi government fails and a Taliban like government takes over we are back worse off than we were at the beginning (post 9-11). They-the Iraqi Parliament-too have to return home and see how their constituents are reacting to what is occurring.
With the successes continuing to accrue since the surge, more and more of the Iraqi people are feeling secure enough to openly oppose those who would destablize the country. Those recalcitrants in the Parliament need to hear and see that reaction from their own people.
Negotiations quite often require such cooling off periods, so that the emotions of the moment have time to mellow and the logic of the arguments have time to be digested.
We will not know if this whole affair is going to be a success or failure for quite a while longer, but since all signs are now pointing to success, at least militarily. I believe that patience, not panic is the best strategy for success.
As to the last, I do believe that if we are steadfast in our efforts, we will succeed in establishing a United States friendly regime in Iraq. We already are seeing examples of that in the story to which I alluded in my original article. When the people come out and begin to feel safe in helping our troops find the terrorists, I consider that a very positive sign.
