It's Not About Little Guy or Big Guy, It's About the Law
Report: Texas Supreme Court usually rules against little guy

AUSTIN - Texas Supreme Court rulings tilted heavily in favor of government, corporate and insurance interests over consumers in the 2004-05 term, according to an annual report released Wednesday by a watchdog group.
Court Watch, part of the consumer research group Texas Watch Foundation, reviewed all 62 consumer-related cases decided by the Supreme Court during the term, finding that consumers won 21 percent.
The report said insurance companies prevailed in 87 percent of their cases, and medical and government interests won more than two-thirds of the time.
The report said the court thwarted the role of juries by overturning 78 percent of their verdicts that had favored consumers. "The Texas Supreme Court has distinguished itself as an activist defender of insurance companies and special interests," said Alex Winslow, executive director of Texas Watch. "This court is truly an obstacle to justice for Texas families."
Court spokesman Osler McCarthy disputed the criticism.
"The report takes complicated legal concepts and reduces them, for the most part, to sweeping fire-and-brimstone conclusions about consumer rights," McCarthy said.
All of the Supreme Court justices are Republican.
When will Liberals learn that it is not about Big Guy, or Little Guy, it is about the law. Judges are not supposed to rule in favor of one party or another, they are supposed to make their ruling based upon the Laws and Constitution. Justice is supposed to be blind. Roberts covered this in his hearings while answering a question from Durbin. "If the Constitution says the little guy wins, the little guy wins. If the constitution says the big guy wins, then the big guy wins.
